I just posted this photo in the Open collectors section. Don't these look like M95"s ?

Image

The site is in Polish but the section is about the last days of the Nazi's hence the older gents with the rifles.

The topic title says M95M, but the front rifles look like M95s. The hand guard does not extend and hump behind the rear sight. The receiver/barrel length ratio works out to about a 29-30 inch barrel and says M95 rifle like Mybusa says in the photo If that is what you meant?

The barrel length on an M95M is 23 and 3/8 inches as measured to bolt face on mine. Get'em off get'em off where's my Raid.

Good eyes you have!! My M95 8mm is like you said hast the wood that surrounds the rear sights and these rifle in the photo do not. But yet the old fellas have the Volkstrum arm bands (at least look like) they maybe standard M95's. I know most of my 8X56r is Nazi marked.

Mybusa,

The mannlicher 1888/1990 does not have a hand guard and the rear sight is close to the receiver. The hemburg has a good bit of wood behind the rear sight, the M90 sight is more angular and the M90 also has a barrel band about 1 1/2-2inches in front of the rear sight. The pictured rifle in my opinion has all of these features and is more than likely an M90. I don't think the Hemburg has a barrel band just in of the rear sight.

Here's a view of an M88/90 bolt, you can see the locking block hanging down under the extractor. The part right behind it is the angled block that raises and lowers it. The M88/90 is the smokeless version of the M88. The Poles were given quantities of Austrian weapons after WW1, so Poles using them isn't too unbelievable-TR
