First I purchased both of my M95's at big 5. The first one was made in 1918. It is a short rifle and it is not converted. It remains in 8x50r. It is Hungarian.
It was painted an ugly brown. All i did was remove the paint and used linseed oil on the stock. Stock is not matching or force matched.



What is the going rate for these?

My second m95 was also a big 5 find. It is a m95/34. It looks very nice. It is an Hungarian with lots of Austrian marked parts. It also has an S lion 4 stamped on the barrel. All parts match all though the stock is a factory force match. It is converted and it has the big S stamp.



The S Lion 4 means Czech's had it at some time?

Boy I wish I knew Big 5 was selling the unconverted ones!! I would have visited the store more! On the 8x50 where did the importer place his marking? Receiver or barrel?

It is on the receiver and it says 8x56r. It thought this too until i bought ammo for it and tried to shoot it. I started to do research and found out it was not converted. So i bought another one and got lucky there too.
