...And I'm trying to work out a trade with somebody for one of my 10 Mosin Nagants for a Hungarian model.

But he's holding out for my M38, which I only have one of. But of all my Mosins, it's the least accurate shooter I have. Trying to talk him into a Finn Capture SA stamp barreled one, that is my second worst shooter. (I have another one that is HIGHLY accurate) If he holds out for the M38, should I capitulate?

I see M38 prices are going nowhere but up. Think before you jump!

I had one but it's in a collection in Ooooohio now! Which is a good place for it as I've given up on trying to collect M-Ns. SW

Do keep in mind I would not even consider doing this, except these guns are like my #1 and #2 worst shooting Mosins.

And that's saying a lot when one is a Finn!

Worst shooting is indeed a relative term. It could mean that all of yours shoot 1moa except these two and they shoot 2 moa. Then again if you have a bad shooting Finn either it's bedding is bad or it had a lot of corrosive ammo shot through it without cleaning. That would excuse even a Finn of shooting 3-5 moa. I have a Finn capture 91/30 and it does shoot close to 1moa IIRC. Apparently the Finns put even their capture weapons through the equivalent of an FTR. Mine was counterbored and my teeth fell out when I saw the groups. Picky fellows thank God.

Cool pics thanks for posting them. That is exactly what I am talking about. Does the bad shooter have a bad bore or is it just one of those that even changing the bedding won't help?

I wonder if such a great shooter as the first one came like that or had some Finnish tinkering added.

So anyways he talked me into this Steyr Bulgarian 1903 contract M95. It was in much better shape than his Hungarian.
