Post subject:  1919 -20 M-95?

Just curious- Why was Styer still manufaturing M-95's after the war when there had to be an over abundant surplus? Are this made from left over parts? I have several marked 19 and have seen others post the 20 dates? Wasn't Austria restricted like the Germans in weapons production? Did this have any bearing on the re-use and rechambering of the 95s? Thanks

That is a very good question,,,, I just acquired another M95 and this one is stamped 38 on the barrel and is by far the nicest one Ive seen, the barrel measures .329 tight chamber and head space is good. and has the highest serial no. of all of my M95s .. anyway you are right, STEYR cauld not sell the rifles that it allready had many counties canceled orders so why would the make more, under licence they where manurfacturing Mausers of all kinds...
