has anyone besides me noticed how much the prices on the Swiss k-31 has gone up?? boy if you don't have one but want one they are expensive. I never thought they would go up so fast. I should have bought a case of them. currently I own only one. have owned several and every time someone would like it and I would wind up selling it. normally I wouldn't have sold but it was always friend who wanted on. I am keeping the one I currently have as they are getting hard to find in the condition of mine. I have a scope mount, bayonet cleaning kit just about everything I need for it. argie1891 |

I've noticed that, too. I only have one and plan to keep it. Kaintuck sent me a clamp on scope mount & I put an EER 4X on it. Way accurate! I think I paid less than 200 for it. I wouldn't mind a K-11, but those can't be found for $75 anymore, either. Time marches on. SW |

I bought my first one on a whim back in 2005 at a gun show, and honestly paid too much for it $130. Stock was typical beaver chewed so I steamed, scraped and sanded and it turned out to be one of the prettiest pieces of stock wood I have seen, a flame walnut all through the buttstock with flowing grain extending into the forearm area. It created enough interest, I promptly got a C&R license and got 5 more at around $70-75 ea from some of the internet sellers, some with nice wood a couple so-so. At least I have two stacks of 3 with not a lot invested, probably about as much as one nice one would go for today. I also got lucky, and got in on the tail end of a group buy/import deal on one of the dedicated Swiss rifle forms and got a nice 1911 that looks like it was a private owned rifle since it was made, Immaculate tiger striped stock with no scratches, gouges or dents and bluing in perfect condition I did obtain a couple of the Furter adjustable rear sights, one for the K-31 the other for my 1911, and actually paid more for each of the sights than I did for the rifles, but they are absolutely worth it. With the 1911 I shot the best iron sight 100 yard group I have ever fired, even beating a friend with a Weatherby accumark sporting a big Nikon scope, probably could not do it again. |
