I have a K-31 on Lay-a-way. Serial 5929?? puts it at 1939 (Nice blue and matching numbers with a bayonet (bayo not matching). My question is the stock has the typical dings on the butt end. I have had good luck with steaming out small dings like this on other stocks but I have not tried it on dense walnut. I guess it will be time to learn!! 5929?? |

Mark, The metal looks fantastic as far as I can see from the pictures. I agree with LoLo. Stock seems to be in good shape. Work on the stock a bit and you've got yourself a beauty. Congrats. Met vriendelijke groet, Martin |

I was not looking for another but for under 300 to my door with the bayonet is good for me! I had already bought a walnut stocked one from another member here but what the heck I love the looks of walnut!! Martin Yes the metal on this looks great and the wood looks like I should not have any problems getting things smoothed out with very little sanding. I have been looking for a pre 1940 rifle and this will fill in nicely! |

LoLo is right its a very good looking gun. Listen to him as he refinishes guns to make them look "not so finished" better than anyone I have seen on the net. |

Thanks Bruce For now it will stay as it is until I get a less crowded area for my rifles (getting tight). I just made an offer on another Mas36 matching with orig painted finish (cant resist those) so the K31 which is on lay-a-way will be about 3-4 weeks away from me. I think in the world of straight pulls the Swiss have it down. |
