OK I have asked everywhere I can think of and gotten little or no help.
I have a M95 7x57 MM Mauser that has been sporterized.
The firing pin spring takes a lot of uumph to cock the bolt.
Is there a way to take a couple of coils out of the spring?
I Know the pin moves 1/2 inch upon firing but the amount of spring pressure seems a little over the top.
Maybe someone knows where I can get a custom spring.
An inquiring mind wants to know.

Check with Wolff Springs, see what his advice might be.

I certainly wouldn't go 'snipping' on the one in there. If you make it to light then you will get some 'click-nothings'. Also have you taken down the bolt to see if it is gunked up? That might be causing the problem.

First thing is has it been converted to cock on closing of the bolt or is it still original and cocking on opening? It sounds like maybe you just may have a 26# spring and that is extra heavy. We just need some more info.
