Post subject: | 7.65 argie ? |
hi again folks,,, i just acquired an 1891 arg in 7.65 x53( or is it x 54) anyway the action is very slick and tight and the bore is i would say ,,compared to some of my other older rifles bores, "clean and crisp". i haven't slugged it yet or chamber cast or nothing. it has been sported but done very nicely some time ago, Fajen stock,, ramp front sight , cut down to 24" williams rear ramp sight(?) ,,,ect,,,ect. what i am trying to ask is ,,, all things being equal how do these rifles shoot????? any other info is always welcome. thanks. |

I messed around with light cast loads and had good results. Sold it to fund Italian stuff, though. SW |

The 7,65 was Paul Mauser's favourite cartridge. You can drive a 175 pill around 2600 fps in your 1891 safely with 36.3 grains of IMR 3031. You can push them harder in a 98 action. |
