received my first FR-8 today in a trade. metal is untouched but stock has been sanded and refinished. also had butt pad installed. barrel is bright with strong lands. any source for stocks? what is the thread dia for the flash hider?

Threads should be the same as a CETME. Try Springfield Sporters or perhaps SARCO for a stock. I reckon any Spanish Large ring stock could be cut down but not sure where to get the handguard |

There are no rear sights in front of the receiver ring like on a standard LR Spanish mauser |
