This particular YC stock was so thoroughly scrubbed that I haven't found one single complete original stamp anywhere on it to help ID where it was made.
I have Law's book, which I think narrowed it down a bit to a mid-war stock, maybe '41 to '43, and also found some info online that says the eagle WaA's weren't typically stamped into the barrel channel later in the war.
The most distinctive unusual feature of this one is that the handgrip area right behind the triggerguard is unusually 'beefy' .. on average from 1/8" to 3/16" fatter than all of the other K98 stocks I have, even my 'unmessed with' dot1943.
The rest of this stock is no different in thickness than any of the other stocks. For example, I'm aware that one manufacturer (WaA37) used a smaller than typical stock disc, but that's the only other stockmaker 'quirk' I know of.

1) fat handgrip area,
2) eagle over 'H' on the right buttstock (Heer),
3) eagle stamp in the stock channel (looks like it had two, not three numbers underneath (might the 'A' be German, or Yugo),
4) eagle stamp beside the slot for the sling, not sure if the 'M' or 'W' is German or Yugo
5) unusual flattened circular stamp right behind the triggerguard that's too small to obliterate even a small eagle .. but I've seen a pic of a tiny death's head in the same spot,
6) not sure if this is another eagle stamp on the left side beside the slot for the sling, or just a nick from a sling

Six photos in total, so I've split them into three posts, I think matching the numbered descriptions above...
