Attention New Members and those new registering!
We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username.
If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7.

Recently got this M96 Swedidh Mauser. It is a CG 1899, all matching, 4 digit S/N in pretty good shape. Barrel is not threaded at the end, but it is turned down. Anyone know why they did that?

That's one fine looking Swede. Not a bad year to have either. From what I can see the SN's match. Have you had it apart? There are up to 18 parts that have a SN, do they all match?

As Et2ss said the nose is turned for the front site. Some of the 96s are like the M38s and are threaded for a cap and accessories??

All of the numbers that I can see without taking the gun down match.

Can I see any additional numbers by just removing the handguard? Kinda hate to take the whole stock off.

The threaded barrels were for installing a blank firing attachment. There is some good info about the Swede on the other post you started with the blank disc.
