Attention New Members and those new registering!
We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username.
If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7.

Saw a "mystery Mauser" at an on-line estate sale last month. One picture and a description that said simply "7 x 57". Intrigue got the better of judgement and I bought it.

The mystery Mauser finally arrived--Brno VZ 12/33 in the form of a Brazilian 08/34 in the original 7mm. All matching and in great shape. Metal and bore excellent, wood pretty good.

I'm not much into Mousers, ( I only have a 1891/12 Peruvian & should sell it) but that's a keeper!!! Sometimes the 'mystery' buys can turn out sweet! SW

Saw this on another board and it looks very good. That would fit nicely in my small collection as I have a few Czech made rifles.

I didn't realize that Brazil had purchased Mausers from BRNO until I started looking into what this might be. Not much about these rifles in Ball's MMRotW.

Ball does get a little confusing as in the same section under the picture he states it is the same as the 16/33 model when it is the 12/33 as the VZ 33 (16/33) is a short carbine.

I know one thing I would like to find one.

Mausers just have such nice lines. I've always liked thelooks of them, but I've sold almost every one I've owned, I just don't like the sights. I found a 1908 Brazilian mauser at a local shop, but he wants 375 for it. I thought it might be a nice addition to my bayonet :lol but not at that price. I wouldn't mind having a 7mm mauser tho.
