I was in at a store looking at another Mauser and I saw this one but passed it up at first, I had gone back and passed on the original and took a closer look at this one. its all matching , mint with no import marked. came with a bayonet, ammo pouch, sling. |

I've got one too about in that condition but the bolt doesn't match. Just picked up a 24/47 about a week ago |

Nice looker. If you find a M48A marked rifle that has both a stamped floor plate and trigger guard it is actually a M48B. Rad |

I picked up one of those about 15 years ago. It looks to have an elm stock with a large patch, extremely well fitted in one side of forearm. Interesting thing is serial number is one less than 10,000 |

I've always thought it odd to see elm used for a stock, but it seems to work well enough. I've got an M.95 or 2 with elm stocks. SW |

gotta use what is at hand i guess - there was a day many reas ago when the elms of america were dying that the abundance of great wood might have spoken well to its use , but then it was never considered a great opyion even in those days of abundance , we lost in my family homestead two or three american elms with a three foot diameter++ which would have made a number of great stocks , |
