spent a while this evening getting some cases ready to load in 310 cadet. in 2001 myself and 2 other fools imported 14 of them from down under. paid a whopping $150.00 each plus a bit of shipping. the net cost was just under $180 each. anyway everytime i get one of mine out of the safe i fall in love all over again. these little rifles are so neat and reloading is a snap if you know a few tricks. the 310 is the favorite of my grand kids. as a matter of fact the reason i am reloading for it is that i took them to the range a couple weeks ago. anyway i was feeling good that i played and stroked them this evening and just wanted to share the warm feeling i got from handeling them. i am sure there are a few on this forum who will understand. joe gifford aka argie1891

i made it to the range today and shot the issue cadet this morning. i have 4 different bullets for the cadet. a 3 cavity from CBE down under and the RCBS. all shoot very well. i customized one of the cadets as it was in pretty bad shape. the blr was cut to 17 inches and i fitted a full lenght stock blued and finished the stock. the red dot was added to make it easier for the grand kids to shoot. 4.6 gr. of unique is my best load. i am hoping the pics come through joe gifford

It's kind of funny to see a vintage action fitted with a red-dot scope. I still 'like' it

the rifle with the red dot was the worst of the rifles we imported. the stock was splintered and metal rough. i spent a lot of time deciding what to do with it. i like full length stocks and happened on a blank on e-bay. i cut the blr. to match (17 inches) and the red dot was put on it because i had young grand kids at the time. they really love that little rifle. it has a kangaroo stamped on the reciever and so they alwasy want to shoot the kangaroo gun. i used it to shoot several sage rats the longest at a full 90 yards. the cadet cartridge is really more like an 8mm bullet with a .310 heel like a 22 rimfire bullet. because of the heel bullet it is impossible to crimp the bullet. i hand seat the bullet and the bullet lube holds it in place. i use lee alox or i dip lube in melted bullet lube. ok kinda long winded sorry for that. joe gifford

Joe
You don't have to worry about being log winded as we like info and of course pics.
