howdy , I have a very clean 1939 Mauser Luger and I have never reloaded 9mm before , I plan I using WW231 [ I have several pounds of the powder] and 124 fmj or hard cast lead bullets.
can you use lead bullets in a luger ??
can you use 231 ??
any tips would be appreciated ??

I've had a Luger or two over the years and noticed two items are necessary for reliable functon: 1) overall length is critical - you need exactly the right cartridge length. 2) load hot.

9mm ammo in Europe seems to be hotter than ours. I can't recall the actual load I used but it was max or close to max.

Same for my match target BHP. I used 115 grain boolets mostly because I had a bunch on hand, but I had to load over max published to get reliable function. I quickly ordered a lighter spring. Oddly it came with a Dutch owner's manual & I never did discover what the factory had to say about ammo.

Now my Dillon is set up for 4.5 grains of Titegroup and I use 115 grain bullets for very good accuracy. SW
