Most of you probably already know this, but it's a good idea to check the primer pocket in your brass cases after they have been tumbled. I look in the primer pocket of every case. It's not unusual to find a piece or two of tumbling media stuck in the flash hole. This could lead to a misfire if not removed. Sometimes, I find that media has bridged itself into the primer pocket; if left as-is, this might cause the primer not to fully seat, also leading to a misfire. I use a machinist's scribe to poke media out of primer areas.

Yes, dental picks work well for this sort of thing. One of my friends who did a lot of auto repair work used to maximize his value during dental visits by swiping dental instruments like picks while the dentist was out of the room.

You can find dental picks at gun shows. I have a tire sidewall stabber that I found at work after my tire were stabed one time.
