I purchased some a few years ago for about that same price. I have not fired any of it yet though. I have heard / read that this ammo is prone to no and hang fires. Wish I could be of more help. Perhaps someone else is better informed. Dave |

Have you looked at the price of 8mm bullets for reloading lately? At the price you quote, the Ecuadorian 8mm is well worth it just for the bullets. You can throw the powder away and sell the brass cases for scrap and get some of your money back. |

You are right Gary. If nothing else, the components are worth that price. Dave |

I bought a case of this a couple of years ago and shoot it as well as pull it down for componets. It is good ammo with a 198 gr. BT bullet loaded with 45 grs of flake powder. The primers are very hard and there is some no or hang fires but installing a Wolfe 22 lb. striker spring well take care of the problem. I use the pulled bullets and 40.5 grs. of the powder to load 8MM lebel ammo and this is an excellent accurate load out of my 1886/93 Lebel rifle. |
