Attention New Members and those new registering!
We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username.
If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7.

Thanks for joining us from the administration.

If I'm hunting, maybe I want to find the 'hottest' load my gun can handle, but for just paper targets, I can stop as soon as I find a load I'm comfortable with, and gives consistent accuracy, can't I?

I'm wondering if I'm just wasting time going through the whole list if I've already found one load that works fine for me? If 2300fps works fine, why would I need to go to 2600fps?

As long as I'm only interested in paper targets, I just find the "right" load (for whichever gun/calibre I'm working with. Right?

Granted my .32-40 might want a different velocity for black powder than for smokeless, and I might have to 'find' the right load again if I can't get my usual bullet/powder combination. And I'm just guessing but maybe 2300fps is just right with one powder, but move to a different powder, same bullet and maybe a higher (or lower) velocity "works better"?

Just wondering.

I say it's okay to stop when accuracy is found. A few hundred more fps actually means little. SW

If you find a good load below the peak it would be good to hunt with also.
