That's a pretty darned decent group for a carbine, under an inch. |

With all the trigger movement I really had to get "snake-eyed" & presssss. I did notice it shoots FMJ a lot better than half jackets. It also prefers AA 1680. 296 loads didn't print nearly as well. I also discovered you have to keep things cranked down tight & any change will shift the group - sometimes by quite a bit. The gun wants to shoot tight groups, but point of impact vs aim point is anything but consistent. SW |

That Has been a problem with that mount in the past. Also check your scope and see if you are getting hits from the ejecting brass. I've been loading with a newer powder by Alliant, BE-86 for my .357 Sig. Real clean and consistent, I'll check tomorrow and see if they list .30 carbine in their load data. Still "Good shootin Tex" |

Every mag or two I get a "smoke stack" when a case bounces off the scope mount & hangs up in the chamber. Which I figured would happen. I think what hurts consistency the most is how the receiver lays in the stock. I push it against the back and crank down hard on the nose cap screw. Which works okay, but the bad part is having to remove the scope mount so I can take the op rod & bolt out for a good cleaning. But it's still fun to get halfway decent groups with an M1 carbine clone. Gives me something to do while I'm waiting for my AR stuff from Brownells. Ordered a 3.5# trigger & a few other things to make a prairie dog whacker. More on that later. SW |
