Hello internet. You may find a question about snap-caps being in the reloading forum strange, and I can explain. In short, I want to make some 8x56mmR Spitzer snap-caps for my M95. The idea I had was to get a spent case, remove the primer, reshape the casing and press a bullet into the casing-- like reloading, but skipping all the explodey bits. Do y'all reckon this would make a viable snap-cap for me to use so I'm not fiddling with live ammunition?

What is silicone caulk and liquid nails used for in this scenario? To hold the round to the casing??

You apply it where the primer goes to absorb some of the firing pin movement. Bullets are held in place by tension of the case mouth. SW

Clean the case neck & put a little epoxy inside then seat the bullet.
That will hold it in place even after multiple chamberings.
I side drill the cases too, but paint, stain or something will work too.
For the primer pocket & gouge the old one out & glue a small cylindrical pencil eraser in the pocket. you can get them cheaply at office supply stores.

while ive always heard that folks dry fire centerfire a lot - jerry micklic told me so personally - ive always made up dummys for my dryfire items because i want to cycle as well , or at least i did back when i was doing that ,
