The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. I put a new Marbles tang sight on my Marlin 27/27-S & was sighting it in... ran out of ammo. Started digging stuff out to load more... couldn't recall what powder I had been using.

Chronograph log showed WW296... Couldn't find it - it must be clear in the back of the locker... aha! I saw some IMR 4227 & knew it was one of the listed powders for 32-20 & jacketed bullets.

So I loaded some up (8.6 gr with a Hornady 100 gr XTP bullet) & off-a to the range. Accuracy was okay but no better than that. Which didn't bother me too much as it was windy & I was just using a rolled up towel on my shooting box for a rest.

But I looked in my old silhouette records book & saw I have not used that powder for a LOT of years. I tried it in 44 mag when I used to shoot silhouettes but 296 was so much better, I gave it up. Tried it in 30 Herret but oddly, AA5744 was the best powder in that caliber.

I've got 2 or 3 pounds of the stuff that I need to shoot up - is anyone else using it? What caliber? SW
