Attention New Members and those new registering!
We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username.
If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7.

Thanks for joining us from the administration.

We've talked about resizing .338 jacketed bullets for the 8x56R using the Lee .329 (or is it .330?) resizing die. It used to be that you could find .338 bullets in the bargain bins at gun stores and gun shows and these were good for resizing for the 8x56R. I don't know if we will be getting these bargains much any more, as dealers are all well-informed as to the high prices of components these days. At any rate, it's possible that you might find some deals still.

When you do find cheap .338 bullets, they often are in weights of 225 or 250 grains, which can be used with 8x56R using certain slower powders. I prefer to get them in the 200 grain weight.

Not long ago, I broke down a couple of .35 Remington cartridges that I had found in the defective cartridge bin at the range. Since I haven't had a .35 Rem. for years, I was getting ready to dispose of the bullets. A thought came to me, why not try to resize these down to .330? After all, they were 200 grainers with a not overly long bearing surface. I slicked them up with some Imperial sizing wax, and they pushed through the sizing die very easily. There was a little distortion of the round nose lead point; I doubt this would be a problem with jacket/core separation as it has been with half-jacketed magnum pistol bullets and certain loads. With the re-sized .35 bullet, there is still plenty of bullet jacket material curved up around the lead tip.

So, if you find any bargain bins to search through, here is another bullet type you can look for to resize into a .330.
