Looks like the smilies replace the 8s in your post.

You sure have a bunch of dies.

About half of my dies were bought from Herter, Luger American and Krupp American. These companies were flourishing when a lot of you were riding tricycles. They were $4.95 per set. Powder was $2.95 a pound and bullets were $3.95. You want something interesting to read look on the net and get a Herter's catalog. I think they went out of business about 1970. riceone.

I heard that they got cross with the ATF and that is what put them out of firearms, reloading and etc. I think there is a small company that still sells fishing supplies. Several years back I order and copy of an old catalog from them just for old times sake. riceone

When I started reloading in 1960 I bought a Herters No. 3 press and its still setup and in use. I have four other presses and use two of them. I think the press was $13. I bought a Redding Scale that I still use. Had two more scales, can't remember what brand but sold them. When I could no longer by Herter shell holders I made an adapter to use the smaller type that RCBS and others make. Also bought a Ideal No 55 powder measure that I modified with a micrometer adjustment - still use it. Have a RCBS powder measure that I never use. Press, powder measure, scale and dies for $50. Roy

you guys are way ahead of me.

1.) 2 sets of 7.7x58
2.) 3 sets of 6.5x50
3.) 2 sets of 6.5x57
4.) 8mm mauser
5.) 30-40
6.) 6.5x53MS
7.) 6.5x53R dutch
8.) 30-06
9.) 8mm nambu
10.) 6.5x52 carcano
11.) 7.35 carcano
12.) 7.65 arg.
13.) 7mm mauser
14.) .308 win
15.) .303 brit
16.) 7.7x63 ( 30-06 die with a 7.7 ball set)
and I think thats about it currently, tho I believe I have some others on the side shelves that Ive never used but bought for next to nothing on ebay. Anytime I see a set i might want I buy them and put them aside for "someday"..I have some stuff for shotguns too, I bought a bunch of stuff when I wanted to build .410 shells, for my enfield.Someday I have to get busy and try that. What I need is some really good forming dies, for 7.7&6.5 and maybe 6.5x53 (tho my FL dies are getting the job done so far).
