which press is better,? A rock chucker, dillon , or Lee?

I have an RCBS Rock Chucker II that I have used pretty steadily since 1983. The ram is a little loose in the bore, but once you get the cartridge up into the die, it centers itself so it doesn't matter much.

Some time ago, I bought a Lee cast press which is pretty nice. Very well made, and with a larger opening than the Rock Chucker. Only reason I don't use it more is because I mounted it on a bench to try out the sitting position while reloading, but decided I'd rather stand.

Be sure you oil the ram and other moving parts on these presses once in a while. Not only will it reduce wear, but they work more easily oiled.

I have a Lee Classic and an RCBS SR5 both single stage and to be honest I can't tell any difference when reloading. The RCBS has a longer handle so there is more leverage. RCBS has a better warranty and Lee is cheaper. I guess if I was going to get one or the other I would go with the RCBS for no other reason than I like my Dodge Dakota.

Depends on how many cartridge types you are gonna reload. I have both a Dillon and Rock Chucker, of course the RC will reload everything albeit at a slow rate. Probably half my reloading is on the RC.
The reason not all is done by the Dillon is that you need a special shell plate on the progressives and each shell plate costs about $30-$40. (You still need the regular dies that will fit in either.) So with 1 plate, I can load 30:06, 45acp, 308, 22-250, They have the same base type. I have to use another plate for .223, and another plate for 30 carbine. Don't want to spend the money for a special plate for 30-40, 7.62x39, 38, 44, 45-70, 380, 9mm, 40 S&W..get it? I reload 14-18 calibers and only a few are the same. I would have to spend another $300 just to be able to load the others. So if you get a progressive, you will still likely get a single. If you get a single, it just goes slower, a lot slower.
