The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. I bought some pulled 308 tracer rounds at Cabelas for cheep - like $7/hundred. These appeared old - orange paint was mostly gone from the tips. I know well they will not trace, but residual phosphorus could remain in the barrel.

Is there a certain way to clean up for that?

These are for the range only. I fire into a dirt clilff with no chance of ricochettes. SW

The orange tracers don't light up until they are about 300 yards downrange. I've fired some of the orange ones and they were still live. If you want to go to the trouble, you can remove the copper plug over the burn compound and scrape it out.

Well that then explains why in videos of machine guns firing tracers you see the tracers going in wild directions instead of a straight line.

The bad thing about tracers is that while you can see where they are going, the opposition can see from whence they came! :-o
