Post subject: | Loading for the 8X50R Siamese |
I have a load for the 8x50R Siamese, but need to make brass. I have been working at this with AZ Fans help. I purchased some 8x50R steyr rounds from Nams auction, but they will not chamber. I read on the net that one could run the brass through an 8mm Lebel sizing die. Az Fan did this for me and the brass will chamber now. Here is a quote from his email:Did you try a 7.62x54R casing? I still think it might be best to fireform in your chamber, then size in the Lebel die.The Lebel has a (kind of) double shoulder & I'm concerned about fit.Shooting a full power load in a 7.62 casing run through a Lebel die without the shoulder moved out might lead to failure through the neck/shoulder area.I'll try & send some pics tomorrow that might show what I mean better.Lee makes the 8mm Lebel dies BTW To answer him 7.62 brass is way too long in the shoulder to chamber.
