Last week I asked one of the gun club members to bring me a couple of cast boolits for testing purposes in my Dutch Steyr Mannlicher.
Until now I used 140 gn Lapua bullets in this rifle.
I received a few this morning.
Not perfect, but they will do.
"New" Hembrug boolit...same boolit, just a bit closer....I don't know what type of mould he used (I think he said Lyman), but here are the specifications I found by measuring the boolit.
Cal.: .265"
Length: 1.20"
Weight: 150 gnThe original bullet of the Hembrug rifle is cal .263, so this boolit should work out just fine.
Hembrug cartridge reloaded with the 140gn Lapua bullet.1925 Hembrug cartridgesAnother positive thing is that when this boolit works, I can use the same powder in all my rifles.....well....except my .22 of course.
The Hembrug is the only rifle that I use VihtaVuori N140 in.
In all my other rifles I use the faster burning VihtaVuori N110 ( reduced loads).
I'll reload a few this week and will try them two weeks from today.
Got a meeting of the Dutch Firearms collectors coming up next Sunday, so no shooting next Sunday.
I'll keep you all posted.
Met vriendelijke groet,
Martin
