Who all uses one?

I have one and it's awesome. It's big enough for two handguns. It takes so much of the work out of cleaning the internals.

On auto, I just remove and strip the slide. For S&W revolvers just remove the grips, crane, and side plate. Other revolvers just field strip.

While my unit has a heating element, the amount of water it holds takes time to heat up, so I put hot water in and then run it. It keeps the water hot. A cup of Dawn dishwashing liquid, set the controls and let it run.

[Note: DO NOT let the metal basket come in contact with the firearms. It can damage some finishes. I use a perforated plastic basket inside the steel basket.]

The guns come out so clean they need to be sprayed or coated with some type of oil or unfinished parts can start to rust immediately. I drop them into a bath of Ed's Red and let them soak.

Being able to get all the moisture out of the internals would be my main concern.

I use mine to clean parts. Never dunked the whole gun though.

my cowboy guns could use a good cleaning like that , those tools get used and abused regularly but so far very few ssues from lack of cleaning - generally its bullet length that catches me up - also generally thats when i load with a friend on his dillon , another reason ive never upgraded from the lyman for the pistol caliber and rock crusher for the big caliber , ive even gone to a single stage for the shotgun - still have the progressive but just dont go through the volume i once did these days with the shotgun ,

I used a big commercial unit We did notice that it etched aluminum parts after several cycles.
