I found another photoset of Russian WW1 pics. My photohost account is too stuffed to post very many but I found this one interesting.
Shown is a mixed 'route march' column of German & Austrian troops. Is it just me or do the Germans seem to be a bit more squared away than the austrian boyz?? Gew 88 rifles?
Some of the other pics were captioned as 'Galacia' or 'Mazursk Lakes'. I have no idea if these troops are in that region. IIRC, the Russkies pretty much got their a$$ handed to them in WW1 which was one of the things that precipitated the revolution.
