Attention New Members and those new registering!
We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username.
If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7.

Thanks for joining us from the administration.

Found a few more for military aircraft fans. SW

Top is "Somewhere in the South Pacific". Japanese servicing float planes. I would imagine those bright lights would draw every mosquito on the island! I've no idea what model aircraft is shown.

Next is a "Symbiotic bomber". The two Il-16s drew fuel from the bomber's tanks and added their horsepower to the flight. When the bomber was getting low on gas, the Il-16s detatched and continued to the target with full tanks to drop their two ( each) 250# bombs. I'd imagine the Il-16 pilots weren't expected at the mess hall that evening.

Bottom shows a Russian Nieuport ( 21?). I'd never seen that roundel before, but the Imperial Russian Flying Corps used it for a short time. I've also seen a Russky Nieuport with the communist star roundel & will try to find it later on. SW

Image Not sure which type Nieuport, but the commie star can be seen on a detached wing surface. Darn trees will jump right out in fron of you if you don't watche 'em close!! ;)

I like that one of the seaplane. I'd bet those lights would attract more than just mosquito's! They must have felt pretty secure.
