37mm Anti tank guns.. that had to be hard on the airframe. Not doing those Russky landing craft much good, either. This is supposedly Rudel's machine. SW

Ah the original tank buster!

The Russkys also had one using their NS-37 cannon, ( shown here on an Il-2 Shturmovik) but recoil was hard on the airframe, and a steep angle of attack was needed for the AP round to be effective against German armor. SW

Have to check but I believe the Germans had several variations on the tank buster, starting with 20 m/m cannons, then 30 m/m cannons, till the ended with the D-1 model with the pair of Flak 18(I think 18?)A.A. guns each with a 6 round rotary mag.. I agree it had to be one heck of a strain on the frame.
