my father and mother moved from midland, to amarillo, texas [he had enlisted in the AAF in august] i believe it was electrical tech school before proceeding to rantoul, ill, in upcoming july 43, where they were married while he was stationed at chanute field.

in august he was sent to school at boeing in seatle, washington, and from there in november he went to flight training [i hope im getting the terminology correct] with the 869th squadron in pratt, kansas, where in april of 44 he was assigned to the 73rd bomb wing.

somewhere in this time period they got divided into two groups, one going to china-burma-india, and his going to the pacific, a bunch of his friends were split up at that point.

finally in september they went to kearney, ne, and left for saipan in october, arriving 11/02/44
