commendable, where are you at as far as school? it will be worthwhile to check and see what they might require and tailor what your taking toward your goal.

A word of advise. Choose an MOS that will give you the training and experience that you can use when you get back in civilian life.

If I had to do it over again, that is the way I would go. Although I had four MOS's, not one of them was much value in the real world. With age comes wisdom?

....when I went in,I was heavy into photography...(the draft kinda decided for me that I was going in... )....they were gonna put me in as a Photographer's Mate rating-however,halfway thru bootcamp they informed me that the school was backed up for 8 months and they werent gonna have me sit around-so I better pick something related  ....well,the closest was called Photo Intelligence (about a2 years later renamed Intelligence Specialist)....it worked with photography-you did photography,etc.....little did I realize it involved higher than top secret clearances and a whole host of other stuff I wont even go into detail about at this point.....long story short, when I got out I stumbled into an aerial photography and mapping company and have been doing it for a living for the last 31 years...... that has gotten so hi-tech it boggles me even now...back then I never knew this stuff existed....heed the wise words in the above posts well..... ;)

see - it can work out just fine , mario is also probably carrying secrets in his head that foreign govments would kill-er-pay-er-die for

seriously , you can have fun - learn what it takes to get a good job , get your education paid for , get decent health care and a retirement if you stick it out at an early age ,

i on the other hand will work the rest of my life , hopefully a long one , and still owe someone and the tax man when they throw dirt on my face [or spread my ashes-my prefered exit]
