Here are some pics of the U.S.S. Maine memorial at Arlington. I took these a few years back, I went on my daughter's field trip to the Holocaust Museum. Afterward we toured Arlington. The memorial from the bottom of the hill. The mast is from the Maine. This is the memorial close up. This is one of her anchors. I am a little premature for the rememberance, but if you wanted to use one for the board header feel free |

111 years ago today, she exploded killing 265 of her crew and starting the Spanish-American War. |

I have a piece of the Maine made into a horseshoe on a medallion from the 1901 Pan American Exposition . I thought I posted it here before but I couldn't find in a search. |

A reprint of the Bannerman catalog listed Lee rifles salvaged from the Maine, they came with a letter of authenticity. One of those rifles with its letter would be worth a mint these days. |
