....its not that bad....its kinda like gettin' rocked to sleep when you're in your bunk... ...there were only a few times it was rough enough that I hadda hang onto the side of my bunk so I didnt roll out ....its gotta be real rough to rock a carrier around that much. ....always felt a lil' sorry for those Tin Can guys...

Any Air Force pilot would soil his pretty pink panties if he were to get whipped off the deck of a Carrier or expierience the sudden stop of the arrester cables.

I don't remember Tugboat sam's. I have not seen a listing. I quess it went the way of the Dodo along with Hannah's. Was it along the waterfront?

Sometime between 1975-85 The Savannah Waterfront Association thought that Riverstreet was a little too "seedy" and began to clean it up. It is now a top tourist attraction and more appropriate for families. There are still bars and places to get beverages, but the atmosphere is more upbeat. The place is packed around Saint Patty's Day and during some holidays. They have developed the other side of the Savannah River with a huge convention center. U.S Navy ships such as the USS Kidd used to come in and dock for several days. I don't know whether they still do this since 9/11.
