was that you wavin at us ? seriously , this was a front that many paid little attention to until the wall was built to keep the people 'in' so much different than keeping them 'out' , when they shot those trying to escape - it made the news , when we airlifted the supplies to the west - it made the news , when elvis was sent there - it made the news , but mostly it was VN body counts that - made the news , and the likes of hanoi jane - made the news , your service is much appreciated and well remembered by those of us of an age to recall we were manning a double front against communism in those days , and even tho shots were not fired regularly i know folks died there defending us , one of my very best friend was there in those days , i do know and remember , thanks for reminding us |
