I really don't believe in carrying on with "exciting" war stories, but I did find a pic showing one of the "natives" we dealt with.
First tour, our chow hall was a big tent with sandbags stacked chest high all around it. Tin roof that leaked severely.
One fine day, several of us stood in line waiting for the cook to announce dinner was ready. (such as it was) I was leaning against the sandbags when one of these tickled my arm. Ripped my helmet off and beat it to DEATH!
Damn things creeped me out a LOT worse than the super poisonous krait snakes we saw all the time! SW
