...came across this accidentally while surfing around- now that I have some time after being laid off/terminated after 23 years with the company and 37 years in the business.... ....it features my squadron (VA-75-note the logo on the A6's) in 1966- 6 years before I was assigned to it...and at the time we were on the Independence....when I got onboard we had moved to the Saratoga...very little from what you will see here changed by the time I got there...brought back many many memories....and reminded me how I aquired my hearing loss... and it wasnt from loud rock-n-roll music.. |

Worked around 747 freighters and know the hearing loss thing. I'm a machinist, so we happily take our lunch pails, and loaded tool boxes on roll arounds and skip from job to job…still sucks though. We now have the wonder F-35 to do everything for us now. Ah, cheap A-6's make too much sense/cents now. You guys didn't hold hands in the cockpit did you? Working on your ammo Mario, really. I might be forced to make my own tooling for it, arrgh, growl, arrgh. Now where did I put that 4140 pre-heat treated steal for making a good case length trim gauge SINCE LEE PRECISION DOESN"T MAKE ONE!!!!!!!!! They must die a cruel and horrible death. Best Regards, Mark BTW, Might have to buy a tap and die set from Habor Freight, oh the horror. Doubt the boys at Lee use metric threads. |

YES and No. I think Lee stopped custom work since I didn't see it in their order area but,….. they did make a small batch of 6.5mm Japanese case length and trim gauges with shell holders listed in their overstock area. One should be headed my way. I did find that the gauge pin has 10-24 threads and was going to model something on a 6.5mm Carcano gauge pin. Now I'm not messing with it. That shell holder is not fun to make even if I get the pin done right. I SHALL GET THAT AMMO DONE. Best Regards, Mark I shall also get some tooling from C&H Tool and Die in the future. The Lebel needs some loving. |

Back when I made an extension to convert 8mm mauser to 8mm Rem Mag. To make a trim gauge all you would need a hardened pin and a piece of mild steel rod. Rad |
