Here are a couple more items I found when cleaning out Dad's place. Mom sure saved a lot of junk. I thought the 1st aid kit was Roumanian but now think it might be Czech due to the punctuation & lettering. Mario may have more to say on that. It is dated 1953 & this type of bandage was commonly seen on NVA. I know it's not Bulgarian or Russky... In any case, the previous owner had no further need of it. The e-tool was from a different day & place between the Cam Lo river & DMZ... The handle was badly broken when I picked it up, so I simply removed what remained of it. I don't know if it's chicom or something left over from the French... I had completely forgotten about it. The SKS is of a similar vintage - 1957 or 1958 if the SKS guru told me straight. It's from chink factory 916 which I have been told is not that common. It's shown for size perspective. One item I KNOW I had was an NVA flag, but it has escaped me sometime in the years since. I understand they bring a few dollars these days. If this post & pics do not belong in this forum, please do not move - just delete them & all will be well. SW |
