Just staggered in the door from work & was pounding down a sammich before I mow the lawn.... looking through the paper... and saw an article about "re-enacting the Viet Nam war".
Lord have MERCY, don't people have other stuff to do???
The article went on how these folks in Pa. were "striving for accuracy". Accuracy? Hah! Guess what, milsurp fans, it wasn't all shooting! So in the name of "accuracy" are these misguided souls going to fill sandbags on Sunday? Burn the crappers? Stay up all night "re-enacting" bunker watch? Write letters home by flashlight? Put a handfull of iodine tabs in their canteens for an "accurate flavor"? Go down to the bait shop for leeches so they can "accurately" burn them off with a vintage zippo? Have wifey bake them bread "accurately" infested with weevils?
And the "accurate" Viet Cong... do you suppose they will stuff an old bicycle inner tube with rice for their weelky rations?
I give up. I suppose they are having fun and I shouldn't whine around like I do, but I fail to see the point of playing 'cowboys and cong' in a national park... to "honor" veterans. I'm having a tough time with that part, too.
But then I am a wacked out Viet Nam vet and have trouble with logic & reason a lot of the time.
Huff, puff... I'm better now.... I think. The voices in my head are telling me to go mow the lawn. And watch out for mines.

And the voices just told me to bid big on a Carcano cav carbine... very LAST letter block for the M91 cav carbine as made by Terni. Scarce, the voices tell me.
