....on this Memorial Day...the Pilots and Bombadier/Navigators of Attack Squadron 75 (VA-75) "Sunday Punchers" flying A6-A Intruders during the 1972 'Nam Cruise flying from Yankee Station off the decks of the USS Saratoga CV-60,in support of Operation Linebacker II which finally brought the North Vietnames back to the table to talk...deployed in April of '72 on last second notice...didnt get back till Feb of '73....I had the distinct honor of knowing and serving with these heros and was able to call most of them friends....we lost 5 KIA and 1 POW during that cruise...and since those days more have passed...1st photo is of the guys....2nd is a board we put together indicating(dots) each strike mission flown during that period, along with the names of the aircrews...they made such an impact that a book was written of them and the deployment..."Launch the Intruders",by Carol Reardon...and I've had the pleasure of working with her on some backround stuff from those days and supplied her with photos and other odds and ends I still have, and I'm thrilled to have a personally inscribed book from her...she's a helluva lady
