while faxes are 'legal' in business, and will stand up in court under most situations, the BATF requires an actual signature in a conspicuous color that proves it to be original to that purchase, as much as its a PITA it makes perfect sense if you think about it a moment.

i was told it was the only legal way, but what do i know? im just doing what i think makes sense - "original signature"

I asked my local agent about it. They consider both faxes & e-mailed versions "electronic" which they now consider legal forms as well as mailed originals.

Besides, these days, the fax and printer are often the same machine, so they print the emailed document and receive the faxed on on the same machine.

i emailed mine to AIM and i used a blue ball point to sign it so it did not look funny. i have since bought 4 MN rifles from them.
