I've found just going out and shooting on Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) to be about the best time to shoot all year as all the crowds are avoided and you are having a load of fun getting away from it all. Anybody else agree or do this?

Best Regards,

Mark

I'm going to try it agin this year. Went to my favorite range last year and ended up behind the used gun counter helping out because they were short handed. Did find a real nice S&W mod. 60, didn't get to shoot but got a new toy.

I've been doing it for a few years and some how going to the range on that day makes it more fun. After I went to a Staples office supply store one Black Friday and seeing several lines all the way to the back of the store that day, I decided shopping on Black Friday was pure madness. One day, my shooting buddies got to together since we had the day off and thoroughly enjoyed having the range to ourselves due to the shopping crowd and weather. I tell you, there are few things better and its the best time at the range ever.

Best Regards,

Mark

Ummh, shopping for guns…….. I can wait till the crowds go away.

I get to go to New Elm MN (about 2 hours from here). I hear they're having a craft sale and "we" sure as heck do not want to miss that. :kap:

Let us bow our heads and spend a moment of silence for this poor man. I'll fire up my Polish M-44 with "Elvis" carved into it in your honor. Oh the horror of a craft store, next best thing to looking at women's clothing at the mall with the Mrs and daughter. I'm leaving before they wake up lest I be Shanghai'd.

Best Regards,

Mark

Well, I did fire my M-44, then again, then let my buddies shoot "Elvis" and startled the guy dialing in his 44 magnum pistol for dear hunting season, they shot it some more. "Elvis" proved entirely accurate and hit paper repeatedly, even with the bayonet deployed. The hair trigger was sweet once we got used to it.

Ah, if I can only be motivated to reload more. Damn you Elvis for doing just fine with surplus ammo. (Cheap stuff too).

Well the weather was cold, but no wind at all and the sun was out. Quite possibly a perfect day. Mrs. and daughter went out on Thanksgiving to shop and didn't get back till 2AM on Friday. I did enjoy making noise and turning on the lights when I got up at 6:00AM. All and all, a great day so far.

Best Regards,

ark…. Our governor has forbade us fro. using the letter..well, that begins with that state up north. Go Bucks.

Went shooting my fn model 1910 today with my new supposedly correct magazine. Every shot stovepiped upon ejection. Thats the third mag to do that. One mag works about half the time. Maybe its the ejector. Shootin was fun though. Also shot Nagant revolver!!

I lovingly referred to my old Nagant revolver as the "Purge-O-Matic". It just looked like it dispatched political prisoners for a living.

Hope you get that ejector problem solved.

Best Regards,

Mark

It is usually a very heavy day at my range. Most people have Thanksgiving and Friday off, and hunting season approaches. Thus those that have the day off, go to the range.

On ca-pus the dread letter is virtually wiped out. I never knew this. I'm still surprised "fans" use the state up north's actual na-e. Woody would not approve. When in doubt, ask, "What would Woody Do?".

I'm pretty sure Kasich will be hanging out at the "Varsity Club" next to the Horseshoe. Last time they play out of state, 30 state trooper motorcycle cops and a black SUV were "stationed" there. He did graduate there.

BTW, several of -y daughter's friends took the plunge into -irror lake before the -ame for good luck. This is all so -onty Python-esque. "You can't go through life without saying 'it'. Oh, I said 'it' again. arrrrgh."

Best Regards,

I had plans on going shooting yesterday but sat down on the couch and the afternoon nap took over.

Ummh, attacked by the nap monster when I got back. I think it roves around looking for victims. Mostly old men.

Mark

Citizen Swihart,

The Black Friday shoots you have organized over the years have been theaputic. No more going to the mall. This year was especially nice. Yes Elvis did impress the nice man next to us. All in all a must do for next year.
