….Streamliner.

Haven't had time to read up on this yet. Not sure if it was prototype only, or an actual production car...

Edit~ concept car only. There was just the one prototype done.

Just think - those fenders and body work were formed by hand. SW

From the bit I was able to quick research on this prototype, the designer did the actual build.
Yes, by hand. The body work was done over mandrel type anvils that the designer built himself.
The build on this car took a bit better than 2 years.

IIRC, power was by a flat head V-8.

There were no doors on this single seater~ a step was moulded into the body work on the r/h side of the car.

Car was probably quicker than greased lighting, at least on specs

beautiful car , i would have loved to drive one , wonder what the cost would have been as a production model ? bet it would have been out of reach for all but the 1%ers

By the time they add the side view and rear view mirrors, steering wheel and other accessories the car would loose its svelte shape.

In addition, I would hate to have to change a rear tire. Just a concept car. Prototypes are expensive, but there are hand built cars that are production cars that are done in similar fashion.

The front and rear actually pivoted up to access what was underneath and I think the side view mirrors were part of the windscreen support. Designed and built by Norman Timbs.

"...Designed and built by Norman Timbs..."

i like his style i would be mighty proud to drive one of his designs , im not sure how all of our modern improvement such as turn signals , seat belts and mirrors and such might get incorporated but i dont need air bags - i drive slow these days , that is one beautiful car , and i like the color too

I don't care how slow or carefully you drive. If someone hits you it would be highly unlikely to get it repaired at a reasonable rate. But then how much would this cost in the first place? Money no object?

finding tires ?

White wall tires are still available, but not quite to wide. There are also special paints available to adress the problem. I would think wire spoke wheels would look great on this.
