Along River Road just north of town.... '56 Mercury of Canada Monarch in Frontenac trim. Beautiful four door hard-top. I had to pan with the camera to get this as it passed me at 35 mph. Lucky shot~ all mostly in focus. D-200 with the 50mm f2 nikkor at f8, 1/125 sec. at ISO 125. Nice 'vette. Not sure on the year- may be '66 or later with the straight side exhausts. Get a load of the single leaf spring rear suspension. Definitely not made for rutted mud roads... Regards, Doc Sharptail |

One way to tell a 66 Vette from a 67... 66 had the parking brake release under the left side dash and a parking brake pedal - 67 had a brake lever between the seat and center console. I had a 66 roadster when I was in college. For the two tours I was overseas, I only took $10 MPC at payday and left the rest ride. Over 2 years, it added up quicker than I thought. Hello, Corvette! (and don't I wish I still had it!) SW |

I have vague recollections of discussions of that rear suspension being gone by '67 or so, but am not 100% sure. Not my forte at all. Perhaps these images may be of some help. There's a look at the inside taken from the rear of the car. The following are all badging: Fuel door. Rear deck badge. Front fender badge. Front deck/hood badge. I couldn't tell you if this is factory pinstriping or not. The car looks to be in original condition except for the modern radial tires it wears... Regards, Doc Sharptail |

Both wrong, the Vette is a '63 or '64 with a '67 Stinger type hood. Easiest way to tell is the fender vents. Only those two years had the two horizontal vents, '65 and '66 had 3 vertical ones looking like shark gills, '67 got 5. |
