Somewhat rare (for around here) dual tank version. 3/4 ton frame with just slightly "settled" suspension. I ain't really a Ford guy, but these were really nice, and desirable. This one appears to be original with no body work done to it. Probably a mechanic's daily driver- it was parked at the shop where I picked up the core deposit on my old car battery. one of my high school buddie's Dad had the Chevy version the wheelbase was longer than a standard pickup of the same size IIRC, putting the rear axle closer to the bumper hitch, he (buddie's dad) is one of those guys that can find a car for $$ and drive it 6 months to a year or and sell it for $$$,,,, he had a different car or truck often |

it would handle that camper box nicely , i could use both the truck and the camper , be better to drive than the wifes motor home me thinks , and i could call it a one person camper .....couldnt i ? |

I do remember that the base engine for the Ford was the 351-C. I haven't seen the Chev/G.M.C. variant for a very long time now. Regards, Doc Sharptail |

Chevy gmc had the longhorn version. Had a 9 foot bed instead of 8. Thst I think ended in 1972. 73 up camper specials had the standard 8 foot bed. At least the ones we owned/ scrapped out. Many of the 73 and newer camper specials had the 454 while I think the 350 was standard. |
