Attention New Members and those new registering!
We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username.
If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7.

Thanks for joining us from the administration.

The picture below is of General Eisenhower riding along in Paris on the running board of a US Army Cadillac. The picture caption said this was a 1938, but that may not be technically correct. The US Army bought 15 Cadillacs for general officer use in 1944. These cars were built of mixed parts obtained from Cadillac and assembled in France in Feb., 1945. Hence, they are historically called "1944" models. This is the model of, or very similar to, Cadillac that General Patton had his famous, ultimately fatal accident in in 1945.

The "Patton" Cadillac that still exists and is in the Patton Museum at Fort Knox was repaired after the 1945 accident using the front sheet metal from a 1939 donor car. Hence, the Patton car, if one of the 15 that the Army bought, isn't in its original configuration as now viewed. Some references say that Patton "found" his Cadillac in France, but that may only be speculation on the part of writers who do not know about the Army buy of 15 cars for their generals.

The Cadillac that is on display at the Eisenhower Museum in Kansas is not the car in the picture below. That car is a 1942 Cadillac Series 75.
