I currently ride a BMW, it's a '04 K1200 GT. but I have always loved the old WW2 style BMW with the sidecar. I saw the Russian copys for sale in the Interordance catalog for $8000. Very tempting, I could get a replica machine gun and mount it on the side car, but then top speed might be 40mph. Cool bike anyway. Does anyone have one?

The Russian "copy" is called a Ural. Here is a pic and the info on them:

Gear-Up
Want to stand out in a crowd and be able to disappear in the woods or desert? Try the Ural Gear-Up. Just like its cousin, the Patrol, with its on-demand sidecar drive, Gear-Up’s origins trace back to the military past of the Ural motorcycle family. The Gear-Up combination is as tough as a Russian AK-47!
Despite its clearly military upbringing, the Gear-Up is equally fit for more peaceful missions, such as fishing or hunting trips. If fishing or hunting is not your forte, you can still amaze your friends with the motorcycle’s ability to blaze through mud, sand and snow... Did we mention its irresistible camo paint schemes?

There's a button there for specifications.

There is room. I rode a friend's back east. His required a fair amount of work/mods to get it up to a 55mph bike. The 2 wheel drive & reverse gear come in handy. He also had a DNEPR which he had to completely rebuild the motor on. Replaced a lot of the workings with BMW parts. All in all he has less than the price of a Ural in it & will probably outlive the Ural too. There is a bloke close by that sells them. Nice and theres my Degtarev

I would like to have both :!: :!: I'd part with the modern marker lights and go for something oldish looking. How did he find a Degtarev with what looks like one cut? nice and thanks for the photo.

I usually see a Ural or two at the Moto Guzzi rallys I go to in the summer. People seem to like them.

I hear now there is a Chinese company making a copy of the Ural :lol :lol :lol

A Chinese copy of a Soviet copy of a German Design... :lol

Harleys have their place. Hard on the back though.A lot of the guys in our group had harleys before and just couldn't ride them anymore. I'd like to pick one up just to ride in the local area on the weekend. But I still have to keep my K bike, harley can't touck that, or catch it.
