I like A-Hs. They are to me the true image of what a sports car should be before they were transformed into big, heavy lumbering oafs. A friend had a 59' bug eyed Sprite and it was fun to drive. Low to the ground. You know draging your knuckles on the asphalt. lol. Simple SU down draft carbs. You could turn them on a dime and leave a nickels change. Could have used better bearings in the gearbox though.

Of the Brit sports cars I like the styling of the AH best.

LOL!
Sorry Pete, just kidding.
I'm sure it was a wonderful car.
They don't make 'em like that anymore.

That is sweet Pete, but you don't want to go back to Key West, been taken over by the good buddys if ya know what I mean,

My Dad had an MG A and B, my brother and I would snag them when he was at work and rat race them on the old back roads, that B was a dog, no guts at all, the old A would eat it up every time, but being young and dumb I always convinced baby bro the B was newer and he could take me if he would just learn to drive it. Sure was no fun when he burned up the clutch and we had to yank the motor to fix it.

dad and I rebuilt a 59 bugeye sprite when I was in HS.we put a 1275 head/cam and twin SU carbs on the 998 orginal motor.new brakes and I almost had all the body work done when I joined the army.he got tired of it sitting there and sold it

I still have a 59 bugeye that I bought in 71. Seems that it spends more time in the back of the garage than it does on the road. I drive it for two years, and it sits for three.

My Mom's former neighbor had a yellow MGC.
Looks like a B, but the front clip is slightly longer (just enough to notice, but you gotta be paying attention), so as to house the inline six cylinder engine.
My brother had a '68 MGB shortly after he got out of high school.
I remember playing in it when I was a little kid.
Love those cars.
Love the aroma.
Nothing smells like the inside of an MG.
A few years ago, I found a beat up, but usable '61 Sprite (essentially a Midget by then) for sale near where I live.
I think the sign said something like $1000.
I sat in it and took in all the "basicness " of the car.
Not a thing there that wasn't essential operating the vehicle (aside from a heater).
Alas, when I looked forward, I found I was staring straight into the top of the windshield's frame.
I passed on buying it, realizing I'm too big to fit into one these cars, anymore.

dean the MGC used the same engine that was in my austin healy.I think they ran 2 carbs instead of 3.one of the main problems with the MGC's was the rear end couldn't handle the HP and they were real nose heavy.

MG =morris garage :D

Very true on all points, Pete (someone give that man a Cheroot!).
This particular one was in immaculate shape. Literally "new".
Alas, the only times I ever saw it move was when he put it in the garage on the day he bought it, and when he pulled it out on the day they moved.
IIRC, your 100-6 engine also ended up in the Triumph GT-6 as well as the TR's (aside from the 4, that is), although in a slightly larger 2.5L version.

I sure don't wish you had it! I wish I had it! :lol My neighbor has one and I lust after it. Really the reason I like it above my 66 Spitfire is the same reason I wish I had a TR6, They are just the right size (bigger) compared to my Little blue (Mini Blue) Spitty.

That new Z body is eye candy, almost like when that first 240Z started to show up on the streets.
