Attention New Members and those new registering! We had a lot of problems with spammers and bot attacks with the stock measures provided by the software. The 7 for registration was a fix that we came up with on our own that has worked quite well. Yes it is a PIA for both you and administration to put you onto your chosen username. If you come back on and your login does not work retry with your username without the 7. Thanks for joining us from the administration.

Here's a few Savage/Stevens 520's that were marketed by Sears & Montgomery ward catalogue companies. They are a browning takedown design.

My J C Higgens has a flat top on it. Does that make it a different model number that the 520?

I think the flat top was the 520-30 this is also the model that they made for the military

A 520-30 right?
The top one is in 12 ga., the bottom 2 in 16 ga.

I've always really like these that are made under a trade name for a retailer. I know there isn't much of a collectors market out there for them, but that's fine by me, makes 'em cheaper.

Saw a JCPenny's shotgun a few year's back that I keep kicking myself for not picking up :!:
